Sanding

The Lap-Sharp can be used as a stationary sander. It works well for sanding small objects as the slow speed, foot switch control, and fine abrasives provide better control of the sanding process than that achievable with high speed sanders. The tool bar can be used as an aid for sanding angles.

The rotation of the disc with a coarse or medium abrasive can be used to create decorative patterns on metal surfaces. Holding the object in one position and them holding it at 90º from the first position will create a cross hatch pattern.

Oily woods such as Cocobolo clog sandpaper quickly when sanded. Using the Trizact abrasive that is used on the Lap-Sharp enables one to sand such woods and wash the abraded material off of the disc so one can continue to sand these oily woods..
