Sharpening Profile Knives
Sharpen profile molding and shaper profile knives by flattening the backs of these knives. Do not attempt to sharpen the bevel edge, as this will change the profile of the knife blades which are shaped by grinding or EDM. Keep these knives sharp by honing the back face of the knives before allowing them to round the cutting edge. The slow rotation of the Lap-Sharp and footswitch start make it easy to hand holding the knife. A gibb can also be used to hold the knife flat on the abrasive surface.
